Chocolate Chip Cookies

Here is a recipe for what many consider to be the best chocolate chip cookies with UK measurements:
Ingredients:
- 250g unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 200g granulated sugar
- 200g light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 400g plain flour
- 2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 300g chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 190°C/170°C fan/gas mark 5. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, bicarbonate of soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop the cookie dough onto the prepared baking tray, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the tray for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
